It's just bizarrely unusable out of the box, at least by @keithzg's reckoning. Here's some settings in about:config that can be changed to ameliorate (though not fix) that:

• Set browser.tabs.inTitlebar to 0 so that you don't have to grab the tiny bits of border that aren't tabs (this seems to also make the general theming follow the desktop environment's theming better?)
• Set toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling to true (though it's really glitchy compared to Chrome and such, it's just too damn slow of a browser I guess)
